APEX Newsletter-09/11/11

Welcome wrestling fans to the pre-Acrophobia APEX newsletter. This is Jim Farrelly the voice of APEX and I’ve got the full Acrophobia card to run down, as well as, a very interesting interview with Warden Epps. I’ll get right into the card.

VS
First up in the opener are two young, hungry up and comers looking to make a name for themselves in Chris Stellar and Lamar Ison. Stellar will bring his…well, stellar high flying arsenal to show off what he can do. Ison is of course one half the Ice Brothers tag team. He is looking to solidify himself as a top singles competitor.

VS

Next up is a feud continued from Rise to the Summit. Monsignor Mascaras teams up with a new partner, the high flyin’ Hawaiian Analu Kekoa, to take on Senor Demonico and El Rudo.

VS
Then the top two factions in APEX, The Crimson Masks and The Pike’s Basin Outlaws, are on a quest  to prove which is better by showcasing their Acro members as The Crimson Mask II takes on Smoken’ Gunnar Wyatt.

VS
In the semi man event Azul Fantastico challenges Super Mosca. You may recall, it was Mosca who tried to rip the mask off of Azul after the trios match at Rise to the Summit. Azul will be looking for some pay back.

VS
VS
VS

The main event will crown a new Acro champion! The plan is for a four way iron man match between Warden Epps, Andres Valiante, Ricky Santana and The Emerald Dragon, but we have had trouble getting a hold of Dragon. The last time he was seen by anyone was the night of the Triumvirate Challenge when Warden Epps unmasked him in a fit of rage after Dragon pinned Epps tying the series and costing Epps the victory. The show will go on with or without Dragon. We have no word on if Dragon will be replaced in the match and, if so, who it will be should he not show up.
Speaking of this whole situation, I interviewed Warden Epps recently and here is take on it…
This thing just will not go away. It is absolutely ridiculous. Every single night after every single show I get fans coming up to me saying what I did to Emerald Dragon was wrong; that I’m a bad guy, blah, blah, blah.  All I did was yank that ugly mask off his face. A mask! That’s all it was; a piece of his freaking wardrobe. Would I be getting the same treatment if I took off his shoe? I highly doubt it. I try to explain that to these moronic fans but then they are like, oh the mask is sacred blah blah blah. Are you serious? Mask aren’t sacred in wrestling, they are worn by people who don’t have enough skill to get by so they have to create a “character”…as well as ugly people. As I proved at the Triumvirate Challenge Emerald Dragon is both of those examples. So don’t come at me with this “masks are sacred and I’m a bad guy crap”. If you want to watch a bunch of lame, no-talent hacks run around pretending to be wrestlers then go somewhere else…go watch Azteca Pro. I am the real deal. At Acrophoiba I will prove it once and for all and finally be recognized as the best wrestler in the world after I win the Acro championship."

Rise To The Summit II

APEX
Rise to the Summit 2
08/03/2011

The show opens at the Cobb County Civic Center in Marietta, Georgia with Jim Farrelly at the announce table.

Jim Farrelly-                “Welcome wrestling fans to Rise to The Summit Two. APEX is back and better than ever.  There have been quite a few changes made in our absence. The biggest one is we have added a new championship title! In keeping with our promise to bring you a variety of different styles of professional wrestling, we have created the Summit Championship. The Summit division will feature a more hard hitting and technical style, while the APEX division will still feature a more traditional wrestling style.  Dex Reed, formally the reigning APEX champion has been named the first Summit Champion and will defend the Summit title tonight against Brian Savvy.
The APEX Championship has been vacated and a new champion will be crowned tonight as long time title challenger Wiley Jack will take on his old nemesis The Crimson Mask. Also, we will finally crown tag team champions tonight as the Pike’s Basin Outlaws, The Midnight Warriors, The Ice Brothers and The Crimson Masks II & III will compete in a one night tournament. Last but not least the Acro division will showcase an exciting six-man trio’s match. Let’s get things started!”

Jim Farrelly-    “It will be the Pike’s Basin Outlaws and the Midnight Warriors competing in the finals later on tonight for the APEX tag team championships. Earlier this evening I got a chance to talk to Wiley Jack and The Crimson Mask to get their thoughts on the big match tonight.”

(Cuts to Wliey Jack sitting in the backstage locker room, talking to the camera)
Wiley Jack-          I’ve been around a long time. I’ve paid more than my fair share of dues. I’ve tasted championships here and there but for various reasons, backstage politics etc., I always seem to get screwed out of them. The whole reason I started APEX was to run my own company and be free of all that kind of B.S. Well, that idea failed and I lost the company. Jim Farrelly made a promise to be fair to me but I learned long ago to never trust a promoter. So here I am left up to my own devises. I’m not delusional; I realize that my time is running out. I’ve had a great career, but the one thing that is missing from my resume is that one great title reign. Like I said, I’ve tasted championships here and there only briefly, but I’ve never had that one career defining world title reign that all the truly great ones have had. This may very well be my last chance at that. It’s fitting that it is against my oldest foe The Crimson Mask; The man I hate more than no other and at the same time respect more than no other. I will not…no, I cannot walk out of that ring empty handed. My whole career, my legacy is riding on it. Tonight will be my defining night.
(Cuts to The Crimson Mask standing in a backstage hall-way, talking to the camera.)
The Crimson Mask-         We go back a long way, Wiley and I. There is no other wrestler that I have more distain for, and I’m sure he would say the same thing, but at the same time there is a kind of mutual respect. If there was ever to be a DVD of The Crimson Masks’ greatest matches or what have you, the majority of the matches would be the ones I had against Wiley. We helped define each other’s careers with what we’ve done in the ring. I wouldn’t expect tonight to be any different. The thing about Wiley is that he has never appreciated the sportsmanship side of the sport. He has no respect for the spirit of competition. To him, it is all about the gold, all about symbols of success. In his mind, you are nothing unless you have that belt around your waist. Now don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with striving to win a championship, but with Wiley it doesn’t matter how you get it as long as you have it. That is why it, for the most part, it has eluded him over the years. His lust over the possession itself has always caused him to lose track of what is most important and that is what the possession, the title, actually represent and that is being the best because you are the best, not because you have a shinny symbol around your waist. That is his weakness and that is what I will take advantage of to win and became the best wrestler in APEX tonight.

(After the bell: Azul Fantastico is getting to his feet after being pinned. Super Mosca jumps over the ropes and grabs Azul by the back of the mask, trying to pull it off. Azul’s partners, Valiante and Monsignor Mascaras, rush to his aid but are cut off by El Rudo and Senor Demonico. Mosca has Azul’s mask half way off when Azul is able to free himself and escape from the ring. The three Rudos are left standing in the ring, laughing at the technicos as they walk towards the back.)

Jim Farrelly-    What has come over Super Mosca? Why did he single out Azul? We will try to get word from him on why he did this. Next up, Dex Reed will defend his Summit title against Brian Savvy in a two out of three falls match per Summit division rules.

Jim Farrelly-    New APEX tag team champions, The Midnight Warriors! These two monsters are going to be tough to beat. I see them having a long reign as tag team champs. Coming up next is the main event of the evening. Wiley Jack and The Crimson Mask will battle to see who will become the new APEX champion. Before we get to that, I got a chance to interview Warden Epps and get his thoughts on the big four-way, iron man match for the Acro championship title next month at Acrophobia.

(Cuts to Warden Epps standing outside in the back of the building talking to the camera)

Warden Epps-                   Next month at Acrophobia a new Acro champion will finally be crowned. Not to sound like a douche or anything but that champion will be me. I have done nothing but prove that I am the best wrestler in the Acro division over the past year. Next month at Acrophobia I will prove it absolutely as I outlast three other top tier guys for thirty minutes.
Now, just to get this out of the way because this topic just won’t seem to go away, The Emerald Dragon is gone! DONE! He’s not coming back. I shamed him so bad when I unmasked him that he can’t bring himself to show his face anywhere. I don’t feel bad about it; he had it coming. Plus, I never understood the whole mask wearing, secret identity thing. It always seem kind of stupid to me. I mean come on, this is wrestling not a comic book…But whatever. At least it has given me a new good luck charm that I keep right here…

Jim Farrelly-    Totally tasteless act by Warden Epps, but it is going to be a heck of a show next month, Acrophobia! The premier showcase of the Acro division. By the way fans, we tried to get an interview with Super Mosca to ask him why tried to un-mask Azul Fantastico but he refused to talk before leaving the building. We will try to get some kind of comment from him before Acrophobia. Now it is time for the main event. The old rivals will renew their feud right now and this time it’s for the APEX championship!

(After the bell, a victorious Wiley Jack clings to his belt laughing. He stands up and calls for a mic.)

Wiley Jack-      I’ve done it! It’s mine! Finally I will have my time on top! I have only one thing to say to all the wrestlers in the locker room who have their eyes on this belt and for anyone in a position of power in this company who might think I having this title could be bad for business, and that is…F**k you!!!(The crowd gasps)

Jim Farrelly-    (Speaking into his head-set) Somebody cut his mic right now!

Wiley Jack-      …The only way that this belt comes off me is when I’m dead! So… (Jack’s mic goes silent)

Jim Farrelly-    We apologize fans for these technical difficulties we are having. Wiley Jack, the new APEX Champion! He has fulfilled his vow and won the title. Now let’s see what kind of a title reign he has. That’s it fans, we hope you’ve enjoyed Rise to the Summit two. Don’t miss Acrophobia, the premier showcase of the Acro division coming in just a couple of weeks. Good night!

Farrelly Report 03/18/2011

Welcome back APEX fans to the Farrelly Report. We’ve got a lot of news to cover in this blog today. First off, the Triumvirate Challenge was a huge success, although it did have some controversy there at the end. All in all, it was a fantastic show. You can read the results of the show here and if you haven’t seen it yet you can do so by scrolling down to the show.
Now speaking of the controversial ending; Warden Epps was fined an undisclosed amount for his show of un-sportsman like conduct. Warden ripped the mask off of The Emerald Dragon after Dragon defeated him in an upset costing Epps the Triumvirate Challenge tournament. I contacted Epps for his insights into why he did it. Here is what he had to say.

That’s what he gets…That. Is. What. He. Gets. He was out of the tournament. Mathematically there was no way he could win. He wanted to be an over achiever. He wanted to step up and ruin my moment of reckoning. Well…That’s what he gets!
I’ve been unable to contact Emerald Dragon. His family stated that he was deeply depressed over losing his mask and identity and has disappeared. No one, not even his family, knows of his whereabouts. We hope that Dragon turns up safe and sound very soon. We’ll keep you posted as this situation develops.
We have a new number one contender to the APEX Championship. ***Spoiler Alert*** Josh Savvy was victorious over Mal Mascaras, putting him next in line to face Dex Reed for the APEX Championship. The date of the bout is not yet set, but expected sometime in April.
Great news folks, Altitude is back! APEX’s flagship show will make its return this coming Wednesday, March 23rd. It will be run on roughly a bi-weekly basis at the Cobb County Civic Center and feature 3-4 matches. This will allow more build toward P.P.Vs, as well as, allow APEX to go on the road to bigger arenas around the state for P.P.Vs and other big events.
As for Altitude this coming Wednesday, The main event will feature the debut of the “most epic wrestler in the world” Adam Marvel. Marvel’s promotional video has created quite a buzz on the internet and everyone is anxious to see if he lives up to the hype. The high flyin’ Hawaiian Analu Kekoa will be the man looking to make Marvel’s debut not so memorable. Also, another young new star will be making an appearance on Wednesday. Ricky Santana will be stepping into an APEX ring, as he continues his E-fed tour. Ricky has made a bold request that he’d like his opponent to be “The American Tiger” Justin Turner.
He has an awesome style. It’s a style similar to my own. I think the two of us would give the crowd a very exciting match”, he said. It is a very bold request from Ricky as Turner is a weight class above him. We haven’t normally promoted inter-weight class match ups in APEX, but I stand by my rule that if challenges are accepted by both parties involved then the match will be made. Since I spoke with Santana I have contacted Justin Turner and he has agreed to the match with Santana stating, “The kids got guts. If he thinks he has enough to hang in there with me then I say let’s do it. It’ll either be a great fight or he’ll learn a valuable lesson.”
The Tag Team Championship Series is in full swing. There have been great matches and some early upsets as the series is turning into a really exciting race towards the APEX tag team championships. So far, the series standings as follows…
1st (three way tie)
-The Pike’s Basin Outlaws, 5 points
-The Crimson Masks, 5 points
-The Midnight Warriors, 5 points
4th
-Onyx, 4 points
5th
-The Working Guys, 0 points
That’s it for this edition of the Farrelly Report. See you this Wednesday at Atltitude!

Farrelly Report 02/22/11

Welcome APEX fans to another report. This is the first report following the First Anniversary Show held on the 29th of January. There is a lot of backlash stemming from that show that I’m going to address. But first I want to take this opportunity to say congratulations to the new APEX Champion Dex Reed, who was victorious against former champion Wiley Jack.

Recently Warden Epps made clear his dissatisfaction with the stipulation of the triple threat match he competed in on the 29th. He has pleaded his case for a round robin style tournament between himself, Andres Valiente and The Emerald Dragon. Personally I think he is just dissatisfied with outcome of the match rather than the match itself. I can’t help but doubt that he would be this concerned with the integrity of the Acro division if he’d won. Never the less, he does have a point. I have spoken with Andres and Dragon and they have both agreed to take part in the round robin tournament. It will be held this Saturday night, February 26 at the Cobb County Civic Center. I am dubbing it, The Triumvirate Challenge.
As it turns out, Warden Epps wasn’t the only person who was dissatisfied with how their match played out. Bubba Brock has issues as well. Here is what he had to say…
Bubba Brock:               Since Jim Farrely is in a good mood, granting everybody their match wishes, I thought I’d make a request of my own. I want a match with you Rhett Ruckus! Back at the anniversary show, you where shooting you mouth off and acting all hot shit with your open challenge. I came out there to shut your young punk ass up, but I had my thunder stolen by those two hillbillies and those Caribbean Cocks of Carnage or whatever they call themselves. After that, the match became an all out, every-man-for-himself brawl. I’ll admit that it takes a tough SOB to win a match like that and you did. But I want to find out just how tough of an SOB you really are. I’m willing to stake my reputation that you are not tougher or an S of a bigger B than I am. I’ll be waiting on you in the ring this Saturday Ruckus.
Wow, strong words from Bubba Brock. My policy is I will allow any open challenges as long as both parties accept. I guess we will have to wait until this Saturday to find out if Rhett Ruckus accepts Bubba Brock’s challenge.
Also coming up this Saturday is the continuation of the APEX Tag Team Championship Series.  At the anniversary show we saw Onyx beat The Working Guys by a count out, giving Onyx 4 points in the series. The Pike’s Basin Outlaws got the better of The Crimson Masks by pin fall giving the Outlaws 5 points and the early lead in the series. This Saturday night we’ll see The Midnight Warriors take on The Pike’s Basin Outlaws and The Crimson Masks taking on Onyx. We'll see how the Tag Team Championship Series takes shape from there.
Last but not least, as I mentioned before, Dex Reed is the new APEX champion and the question many are asking is who will he be defending the title against? Well I plan to have that question answered this Saturday night at The Triumvirate Challenge. Josh Savvy and Mal Mascaras both had impressive showings at the anniversary show and that in my mind makes them the top two contenders in the APEX division at the moment. This Saturday they will be in the ring against each other to determine who will go onto face Dex Reed for the APEX championship. That about wraps it up APEX fans. Tune in this Saturday night for The Triumvirate Challenge. It is sure to be an exciting show.

Warden Epps RP (Following 1st Anniversary Show)

(Parking lot behind the Cobb County Civic Center after the APEX 1st Anniversary Show.)

Warden Epps:              I made it my goal, that in the new APEX, I would establish myself as the top competitor in the ACRO Division. I will be the guy that carries this division for years to come. Now, tonight wasn’t exactly a huge step in that direction I admit that. I take nothing away from Emerald Dragon, he came out on top tonight, but I can’t help but point out the fact that I didn’t get beat. I lost the match sure, but my only fault was I wasn’t fast enough to get to Dragon before he made Andres Valiente tap out to the Dragon Lock. I didn’t tap out. I didn’t get my shoulders pinned to the mat. I didn’t get DQ’d or counted out, I didn’t get beat!
Now far be it from me to second guess the “higher ups”, I mean I certainly understand why our match was a three way dance; we are the three best in the division, the triumvirate if you will. It makes since to book us in that match, but I don’t think it’s quite the best way to determine which one of us is the better wrestler, which is what it is all about right?
That is why I propose a one night round robin tournament. Each man faces each man, one on one, no stips, no excuses. It is as fair as it gets. I challenge you, Mr. Farrelly, to make this happen. If Andres and Dragon are the type of competitors I now they are they will have no problems with accepting my challenge. This would be the best way to determine once and for all who the best in the ACRO Division is and the best way for me to step up and take my rightful place as the top athlete in all of APEX.
